Save $48 on a Handy Hammock

    Hi All,

First off, I want to say a big thank-you to dejoha for his recent review of Handy Hammock. Some good points raised that we will likely incorporate into future development.

Although we've had some enquiries we've yet to establish any US distributors for our ultralightweight hammock stand so for now the only way to get hold of one is via our website, www.handyhammock.co.uk and this does involve us shipping it from the UK. Originally we listed the shipping cost as £40 ($64) for US but we've now managed to reduce that to £30 ($48).

To show our thanks to the the forum folks that are already showing an interest in our product you can save £30 with the discount code hammockforums, effectively getting free shipping. We're going to run this offer until December 31st.

    Hang safe!
    Jason

Out of interest does this discount apply to UK forum members? More especially have you considered selling pairs of 'struts' to those who want to use them with other hammocks.

    Hi Humpack (Alan),
This discount is available to anyone regardless what country we ship to so yes you can use it from the UK.

We don't plan to sell just pairs of struts. Our lightweight hammock is not really a major component of the overall cost and as the units we have made are already packed and ready to ship unpacking them removing the hammocks, removing the guys and re-packing would cost us more in labour than just shipping the hammock.

We will probably make a "modification kit" soon so that people can easily adapt our system to use other hammocks. This will likely be very similar to Derek's suggestions but we'll need to do some thorough testing over the Winter before we can fully endorse any modifications.

    Best regards,
    Jason

    My conversion shows $161.35.

Don't suppose you could post what the stand (minus the included hammock) weighs?

*edit* I see from your signature that it weighs 54 oz's with hammock, how much does your hammock weigh?
