I was telling my wife about hot water bottles and she made an excellent suggestion: experiment with it often and early so you are a pro long before you need it.

I have been using a small hot water bottle for most of my military career, cheap but very effective.

    just like this one

I use 2 hand warmers when it gets down to freezing.

They last all night in my pocketses.

I just picked up that exact bottle on amazon for $8 last night. Looking for something to have coffee around camp. They're insulated so I don't think it will do anything to keep you warm. But if you're just looking to have warm-ish water in the morning for quicker coffee, it looks like a winner.

    .
Same here. I've also tried putting them on my socks to warm my feet. The warmers with temporary adhesive work great for this.

I'm hesitant to use one of these water bottles with the reported rate of leaks across the board on this style of bottle.

never had a drop out of this one, it's probably....5 or 6 years old?

can't speak to any others obviously, but I can only seeing this leak if you don't screw the top down, or cross thread it somehow
