Great tip! Can't wait to try it.
Great tip! Can't wait to try it.
So glad I finally read this sticky. I'll definitely be using this
I had to use this trick this weekend in Algonquin park. It worked like a charm.
This why I've never fell for a smart water bottle. Used this method a number of times but never tried it to dry my socks--I'll have to give it a try.
Thanks, I did not expect it to last a few hours. I wished i used this a few weeks back when i had a cold overnight.

Great post. I haven't actually had the need to try this in my hammock just yet, but I've done this in my old days being a ground-dweller, and it's shocking just how effective it is. Some of my fellow hammocker friends started doing this recently, and are just blown-away by the results. It lets you defy a large drop in temperature, for sure.

I can tell you what not to use. Do not use a Smart Water Bottle! Those bad boys shrink up pretty small and it's takes a small miracle to transfer from cup to bottle. It went from a 1 liter container to a 6oz raisin. Haha

Great idea! I will definitely have to try it
Works great but like all the others have said, double, triple, quadruple check that bottle is sealed tight!
The MSR Dromedary bag works great! It's probably too big for backpacking though. Smallest size I believe is 4 liters. But for car camping if you can heat up a gallon of water it's unbeatable.
