For those Canadians, I will do alot of camping in Ontario or in New York state.

I am thinking a 3/4 is good enough and adding a pad should be enough to get me by in the late fall and early spring months.

Your help, and experience would be greatly appreciated.
    cdnrogue,

Welcome from the other side of the river (literally). If you're not winter camping, then a 3/4 with a pad will keep you more than toasty. Went camping in 40* temps with just a pad and wool blanket and was very comfortable. I know what temps you're talking about and that would be my recommendation.

Thanks everyone, I think I decided on a 3/4 length for the type of hammock camping that I will be doing! Thanks everyone for your input and perhaps helping others!

So now that the crazy holiday is over and everything is back to normal, I have decided on a 66"Underquilt 30 deg from Leighlo. I have 1 question concerning the top quilt. Do you guys typical match the temp rating or have you found sometimes a warmer rating is required for a top quilt. example: 30F underquilt is comfortable with a 30F Top quilt or should I go with a 15F underquilt and a 30F top quilt. Just asking based on your own experiences?

Just read through this, and regarding your recent question, go with the 15 and 30. If for some reason weather doesn't work out as warm as planned, you could freeze. You can always vent, but you can't always add too.

Not changing the subject here but a larger tarp will help keep the wind from robbing some heat away from your quilt. Just something to keep in mind.

Don't forget...for my wife who is 5ft 3, a 3/4 lenght UQ is a full length and at 6ft 2 that same 3/4 length is just that..3/4 length. I have and use a Full and 3/4 length depending on the weather.

I put the full-length Incubator on and doesn't ever need adjusting. Hard to picture not having full coverage toastiness at all times. (Though I'm gonna pick up a Summer Series set too)

Just get a Arrowhead Equipment Jarbidge (58" length) AND a New River (78" length) and call it a day. You can just about have both for the price of one full length down UQ if you get the cheaper color options...$250 for both is a steal.

They are rated to 30 degrees but I think the rating is conservative as I have gone to lower 20's.

    That's what I did...no regrets.

Glad you posted this. I'm 5ft 5 on a good day. 3/4 is going to rock for me.
