Being new to hanging and being uncomfortably cool on my first hang in the early spring last year I decided to figure out a way to insulate the bottom side before it got too cold. UQs are just too expensive, even if I wanted to try to make my own so I started researching pad systems
I came across Frost's neat sheet pad and figured I could do something similar.
To say I butchered it may be an understatement but it does work, at least on the living room floor. I'm going to give it a try this weekend.
I used a ridgerest (already had) and a WM blue CCF, some $1 bin camo nylon. I may have less than $10 in it not counting the RR I already had.
There is enough room to slide in an extra pad or sun visor. A quick roll produces a 8" diameter by 20" wide package. Wt. is well under my 3/4 Thermarest that I carry when on the ground.
So, with all due respect, thanks, and apologies to Mr. Frost, there is my first attempt at a pad.
