    Decisions Decisions?

Well, I just looked to see if the Hammock Gear website was up and it is rocking with their black friday deals. A couple quick questions, Do you recommend to pay the little extra to overstuff the quilts? Would 1 oz be good, I mean I'm sure the quilt is good standard but how much do you gain per ounce of overstuffage Also which colors do you recommend? No just kidding about the colors ha ha. Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

I was told that an ounce would probably get you a few degrees but that is subjective. If you are a cold sleeper an extra ounce or two would be worth the money IMO.

I'm a big fan of overstuffing. +2oz on my 40° Incubator, +1 on the 20°. I mean for $8, why not. It just looks and feels better and that alone is worth the extra for me on such an expensive item to start. But I'm sure it's keeping me a bit warmer as well. Total peace of mind either way.

I tend to add about an oz per quilt - just for added fun! Not costly and I like to believe the benefit outweighs the cost.

O.k., this is what I was thinking. If your already spending two hundred bucks or more you might as well go for the gold right. Thanks

Before I got my 20° Incubator, I'd take the 40° down into the low 30's and I was comfortable. Was it because of the overstuffing? I'll never know, but I like to think so!

I just ordered the 0 degree incubator from HG and had 4 ounce of overstuff and do not regret it one bit. It has serious loft and I put it up in the backyard the other day and it was a pretty cool evening and as soon as I laid in it I could feel it warm up.

    Good luck with your decision!!

I just placed my order for a Cuben fibre tarp and at their prices I couldn't resist a 40* Phoenix, in fact I got one for my wife also. Was wondering the same thing about over stuffing and decided to add 2 oz's per UQ. I figured for the extra $16/each, it should take me down to 30* so I can't really go wrong. If you typically sleep warm then it might not be a big deal for you.

If you are looking at a 0* quilt anyway, then I guess it would depend on how cold it gets where you hang? I mean if you go hanging with Shug, I would prolly fill that sucker up with another 4 oz easily.

I'm located in the NW corner of Alabama so it doesn't get quite as cold as it does in Shug's Minnesota territory. We do go camping mostly in the winter though. Probably twenties will be the coldest temps when we are camping. I'm looking at the incubator 20 with 2oz overfill. The phoenix is a little lighter on the wallet though. We usually don't hike to many miles so i'm thinking i'll take the incubator.

Go for the over stuff. You can always vent the extra few degrees on a warmer night, but it's a lot harder to make up for those degrees when it's colder.
