Sorry for the lack of comment on the thread, we've had a slight set-back which we've (mainly my Dad) been working very hard to remedy which has kept us rather busy...

    The set-back...
We have had 3 strut failures. 2 (would you believe it) were during testing done by Just Jeff and one was fuzzie. Both have been sent replacements and as per fuzzie's image post on this thread he now has working kit (Jeff's replacement is still in transit).

No-one was hurt but it rather panicked us and we decided we should unpack and inspect all our holding stock before sending out any further orders. Rather a lengthy process since all were poly-wrapped for dispatch .

We have removed a few potentially defective struts that might otherwise have gone out to customers and we've put some QC checks in place for the next production batch but there is a small chance that customers that purchased a Handy Hammock before the group-buy could have a defective strut so I'll be emailing these customers to alert them and offer replacements/refunds.

Hopefully, just a minor hiccup on our journey. Big thanks to Just Jeff and fuzzie for their patience and assistance.
Jason, thank you very much for your response and your willingness to devulge all the info. It's always risky to give detailed info about a problem, but, I for one, am very glad to see a cottage industry business have so much confidence in their product to take a chin hit and still keep on going.
Also, good for you (and dad) to inspect all the current stock, even though they were ready for shipping.

Good luck to you in your business, and may you be too busy building your business to get out a lot. (But still enough to enjoy life.... and product testing)
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Handy Hammock - The Ultralight Hammock Stand

It's probably a good time to also remind ourselves that this gear fits into the ultralight category, considering it is holding up 75 times its own weight. It's essentially taking the place of two oak trees, but weighs only about 3-1/2 pounds.

I have a lot of ultralight gear and it all works just fine, but, it's not military grade, nor is it scout proof. The 3-1/2 pounds will be treating your back nicely as you carry it: so treat it nicely in return.

Ha. That sounds like some of the comments when whoopee slings first came out and when people started experimenting with the thinner, more ultralight lines. It is amazing that something seems so obviously "not strong enough" and later people hit their heads saying, "who woulda thunk it could hold ME up!" Guess thats part of the definition of Genius.

Thank you for the updated info on the stands and I appreciate the full discloser. It actully makes me feel better about my purchase and I look forward to receiving it. I will be splitting it up with another HF member to use with a tree when I am in a location where only one tree is available.
    Thank you

Handy Hammock - The Ultralight Hammock Stand

Got home from a day out to find a little card from the post man.

I've got to go to the collection office tomorrow and hopefully it will be my stand.
