    Newbie in North Texas

I am just staring out here in Nort Texas! I am definately imterested in making my own hammock and tarp, but I am not too sure about the wintertime hanging! Shug sure makes it look easy in his videos, so I'm certain that I will have a real steep learning curve!

Hey there from OKC! Welcome to the forum. Lots of good info and people to be found here.

Welcome from Grand Prairie! We really need to put together a group meetup (not as formal as a hang) for us DFW folks at one of the local parks to talk gear, demonstrate setups, and talk some of the newbies through some questions...

...but not this weekend -- we've just had like two solid months of running somewhere every weekend....we're about ready to take a rest for one.

Aw, who am I kidding? We'll be spending it putting up our Christmas decorations!

Seriously, though, welcome -- I live right around the corner from Joe Pool Lake, so I'm always happy to meet someone and give a few tips.
