Another question related not to this tarp but maybe, and def. related to bridge hammocks. If you wanted to bring the tarp all the way to the ground on all sides to block all the wind possible how does that affect the bridge? Seems like that would be easier to do than in a gathered end.
I missed Cranky Bear's WB RR at MAHHA and hate that, might be a while before I can get first hand on one.
Hi MedicineMan. I think that it's actually a little tougher with the bridge as the spreader bars are quite wide, and you would need a really wide tarp to get all the way to the ground and still clear the ends. Ultimately, I think the Winter Palace would get one pretty close, but I opted to go with the regular 8.5ft width as I will be using it in conjunction with WB's Spindrift for rough weather and winter. Even with the Spindrift and this tarp together, I'll come in under 20oz for a full sock enclosure and tarp.

    Cheers!

Okay! Seeings I've tortured some of you, here are some teasers! Basically, its a wall of cuben that goes all the way across my living room! The second pic is a closeup of the door tieout strips that you tie a light string thru.

    Cheers!

The camo cuben looks awesome! I think given the choice, and if the weight was the same, I probably would gave ordered it that way. Although, this material is really nice. Adam said it is considered green (I know if looks grey in the pics). It's hard to describe, but in the light, it almost looks like the inside of an oyster shell or gasoline on a puddle. It seems to kind of take on a bit of the colors around it. Very cool.

    Cheers

I am thinking about the same thing! As a car camper its hard to justify the price, but if it come in a nice camo pattern then ........

I have both, cuben tarps by HG, one is cat cut,,other is straight cut, both are 12' long and the straight cut has the tieouts 80" apart for the BMBH UL and you can get neither to the ground on the sides with a bridge hammock,,closest is about 12" off the ground. What you have to order maybe is the extra winter tarp where Adam increases the widths of the sides by adding more cuben material but very pricy for the winter palace type cuben tarp and not sure if it will make it all the way to the ground. And you can't close the doors entirely on the RR as the suspension won't allow a full closure from the pics I have seen. Maybe somebody can comment on a full door closer on the ends of a RR bridge hammock.

Any updates? I've got my RR now and a Spindrift on order. I was contemplating the palace as well, but like you say, with the spindrift it may not be necessary (not to mention saving the 100 bucks). Would love to see the level of coverage the standard tarp gives though. Thanks!
