    Newbie from Ontario Canada

Hello everyone. I'm a 35 year old male from St. Catharine's Ontario. I've been a lurker for a couple of months now and finally decided to pull the trigger and purchase my first Hammock/tarp this weekend. I made my decision based on countless hours reading your posts and watching Shugs videos...the Black Friday sale at Warbonnet also had a little to do with it. Looking forward to being a part of this community.

Welcome! You just missed a group hang at Valens Conservation area outside of Hamilton this past weekend. There were 18 of us out there. Keep an eye on the trip planning forums for threads with EGL (Eastern Great Lakes) in the title. You can subscribe to this thread and when a group hang is planned, it will posted there and you'll get an e-mail notification.

Most of my Canadian friends that have moved south have told me that Canuck chocolate is much tastier. It probably explains why I become more pear-like in appearance as I get older.

    Hey mrguyterrifico,

Welcome to the forums. Anything you ever wanted to know but were afraid to ask about hammock is in here somewhere.

As Bubba mentioned, you just missed a chance to see a wide range of hammock rigs at our EGL Valens hang. Our next organized hang is likely to be a deep winter snowshoeing one, but we usually try to get out for a paddle in the spring and fall, so look out for those as well.

    See you out there....
