Lets talk camo

So a lot of stealth camping threads have come up recently and ive been wondering about what works best for hammock camping.

most of the camo comparisons i find online are for people who play airsoft in the woods and are comparing uniforms.

on a broad scale, in the woods, what do you think would be best for both tarps and hammocks? im sure the hammock itself wouldnt matter all that much if it was by itself, but our tarps cover broad area and solids dont look as natural out in the woods.

ive used the Superfly with the camo before, but not really out in the woods. both my current tarps are black and that works out at night pretty well, but not so much in the day light.

anyone got some comparisons of woodland and ACU in a more broad size?

what works the best is distance....and sometimes even that can't beat a random encounter like we had this year in the Smokies. We were just lucky he was cool (private property owner).
Next to distance is natural cover/blocks. For me usually thats large thick stands of rhododendron, it would even hide CoolDays bright orange tarp.
Then the pattern. Doesn't matter what color it is if it is a solid block of one color-it will catch the eyes. But whose eyes? Remember the classic red/black plaid by one of the big name wool makers (orvis maybe? filson?) anyway that plaid you and I'd pick out is camo to animals.
Me I like flecktarn but I can't see any cottage ever making a tarp in that pattern!

Off the trail and tucked away in the brush. (If possible) I find it a lot easier to hide a hammock than it was to hide a tent since level ground is not an issue. I just make extra sure there are no widow makers.

I prefer good old woodland camo. Works well in the pines where i camp. But digital looks cool.

Are you talking about the camo from HG that we discussed in the separate thread? I was interested in the winter pallace in the camo but I have not seen any posts or announcements on ordering.

The Cuban in camo from HG started off as a custom order from me. Adam is waiting for samples from the manufacturer for color match the last I heard.
