Hi all. My friend and I both just got our first hammocks. He bought a Crazy crib lex, and after much agonizing between a Clark NA and the HH safari, I went with the safari. We tried it in the back yard then on an overnighter up the mountain. Both of us were pleased with our choices, even though I admit to having had to do a lot more work to insulate than he. I made my own sleep pad out of an old sleeping bag, some emergency foil blanket, and a layer of polar fleece. I used the side ties to secure it in place after the stick on velcro came before I could even use it. I may stitch these on one day. the mat is held to the hammock with another hammock bottom strung like an under quilt. It seemed to work fine and the whole mess except the pad fits into my sleeping bag stuff sack. slept well and my back loved it. And here I thought I'd been lifting wrong at work all this time to discover I have a useless bed.
Anyhow it was all good untill I came home and was just rechecking some of the info I'd found here, when I stumble on the warbonnet. Don't it just figure?
Oh well I'll just have to wear mine out fast.
Glad to join the ranks and thanks for all the input I used before getting into my first.
