Haven't hammock kayaked, but I'd sure like to. The kayak in this pick (that I put together from a Pygmy kit) has since had its storage hatches cutout and the cockpit cowling installed. That's as far as I got, and that was like 7 years ago. Shame on me! I can't tell you how many times a week I see that thing and think " I really need to finish that", or how often my wife says "You really need to finish that."

I would not call myself a kayaker, but I have used my kayaks on a few trips and just a Month or so ago My oldest son and I did a 15 mile trip (lots of fishing)
On the Mazon Creek/River that is near here
I hung from a dead tree and a Bridge Pillar he slept in a tent on a sandy area under the bridge
We had a great Time!
I want to plan a three day trip in the spring and travel about 40 miles and
camp on an island
Not too much adventurous kayaking around here but it is a great way to get away from the crowds at the campgrounds
"HANGING OUT"
Kayak travel is great. Fishing bird watching & just going with the flow. Camping where it looks good with no crowds of noisy people. More fishing, peace and quiet.
The hammock just makes it easier. No need to find that sandy 10x10 tent site.

Another kayak/hanger, Tsunami 125. can haul 100lbs in the dry hatches. Also agree there are more options for camp with the Hammock on board. Also Harley/Hang , "if I can haul it on my back I can haul it in a Yak,on the Bike I just put in in the trunks right there on the Back."
The Older I get, the Faster I use to be.
I love the outdoors and kayaking is my version of hiking. Although I've only been hanging for a short time (2 summers), it has really enhanced my paddling trips.
I keep one of my hammocks in my vehicle & kayak at all times just for breaks and chilling out. Paddling and hammocks go together like peanut butter 'n jelly!
I love kayak camping! Nothing is more peaceful than heading out on the lake, finding an island, setting up and chillaxing for the weekend (or longer!) Kayaking with a hammock instead of a tent means I have more space so I can bring more food to stay out longer.
Life is good!
