Got the tent all set up...

...I guess I was feeling nostalgic and it was a crisp 25° so I decided to sleep in this strange green thing out back.

I laid down to try and sleep; lasted a whole 6 minutes. I can't take it! Where do I put my arms? My hip was digging into the ground. My face was smashed into the pillow. The moon was too bright to sleep and my superfly wasn't there to block it. AAHH!!!!

I retired back inside and decided to set up the hammock this weekend. So, I'm looking forward to a nice hang in the back yard tonight. I wish it was going to be cooler, only down to 35° but still perfect sleeping weather.

Hurting to get some backpacking in...the yard will have to do for now!

Thats so funny because I fell asleep on the livingroom floor the other day and woke with my hip and shoulders hurting and the first thing I thought of was how I slept all those nights in a tent.

I laid down on my old Thermarest I had out that my kids were using as part of a slide off the couch. I asked my self the same question. How did I ever do this on backpacking trips? At least the nostalgia of setting it up was there if not the actual sleeping in it.

Oh man, the hip thing. That was my main motivation for hammocking. The ground wasn't made for the human shape

I don't know actually. I've used a MH Viperine tent for years and finally bought this one new just before the hammock thinking I would use both. I think I'll hang onto it just in case.

Well I did it right last night with the hammock. It was supposed to be 35° and partly cloudy at night...but it's 29° and freezing fog right now. I kept getting hit in the face with a drop of water throughout the night but kept ignoring it since I was sleeping so well. I fianlly put my glasses on at 5AM to check things out and I was soaked! That's what I get for skipping the tarp!
