    Your straps should be fine as long as you keep the relative angle ~30*. I use straps with a lot less breaking strength with no problems (yet).

    My added advise, no matter the straps, is always check them after removing your hammock, before you store them to ensure no weak spots or damage. This is a good practice to get into because it also minimizes losing or leaving your straps behind.

    I can stealth camp on a side hill. A cot with legs needs flat ground.
