Been 90% packed since Sunday. Finished some sewing Monday. Then didn't know how to act with having nothing else to do to get ready for camp...this is so unlike me!! Finished packing a little while ago. Ready to load it all up!!!

Somehow I missed that you were coming to this hang. Very cool. I've been hoping to meet you at some point and pick your brain about gear.

Looking forward to it, I'm putting together a UL kit for trip out west this summer so I'll be picking your brain as well...

Finish packing and load the car next, with luck we'll be there tomorrow night before dark...

I started packing a few minutes ago..... lol Got tomorrow to do some more packing so that's good.

I noticed there is a bunch of caches in that one area. When I cache I always have to travel for awhile between each one but it seems like they are stacked on top of each other.

I loaded up the few that were in our section of the park and a good many on the lake. I didn't see a whole bunch in the area we are in....or at least where I was looking on the map.

All you people are making me feel like a serious procrastinator (not that it is any different than normal for me ) I'm no where near fully packed. Been working straight through for over a week . Tomorrow is my get everything done before the hang day. I probably should make a list or three so I don't forget anything.

I made a list on the computer awhile back of all the gear I usually take. What I do is duplicate the file, drag it on my desktop, and every time I pack something I delete it that one item until there isn't any items left. Lists are the only way I can pack without forgetting something.

I have everything (except perishables) staged in my living room Will pack the van tomorrow night after work and load the ice chest Friday AM. Get off work at 1pm and head for the hang.

Wife and I went to grocery store for a few last minute items (her snacks)

old4hats is here in Garner, NC safe and sound. We will be doing the turtle dog hang tonight and tomorrow night in the back yard. Off to the lake Friday morning.

Has anyone been to this area of the lake before? I'm wondering if there are any good places to fish from shore there. I think I'll bring some tackle just in case.

There are two fishing piers in the park, one is at the main camp ground and the other is by the picnic pavilion. I've had good luck at both in the past can caught any thing from palm sized brim to arm length bass.

Jeep is loaded and the kayak is strapped down. Soon as I'm off work tomorrow me and Max are hitting the road.Hope to arrive at the lake by 1800 Now I just hope the weather cooperates since the top is down for the drive. After the month I've had this trip is sorely needed. See y'all there.
