    Heres what I was asking/thinking I'd try.
1" straps to the anchor, 1/8" amsteel 12, carabiner each end, descender ring w/4 wraps, hammock larkshead with amsteel loop (144" total length, measuring from end of each loop), ridgeline length set with the loop knot locked into a marlin spike hitch to allow it to be adjustable (80% seems to put it at 119")

Opinions on if it will work out? Or will I fall to an unpleasant death?

I just ordered my first hammock. I got the Yukon outfitters hammock for $25 dollars shipping and all! I was wondering if this was a good choice for my first hammock? I can wait to try it out! Any advise would be great! Thank you. Oh anyone know how long it takes to get your order with woots standard shipping . Thanks again!

    Is it Like the Roo?

A few questions if someone might know.

    1. I heard it's like the Roo. Anyone know if that might be true.

    2. I ordered one today and I'm in California. I heard this company is in Texas. They threw in an extra $2 for taxes. Anyone else get charged for taxes on theirs.

California requires taxes to be collected by the seller on all online purchases to residents of CA. To my knowledge its the only state with that requirement.

Thanks. I await the day I leave my home state for greener pastures.

I just came across this thread. It sounds like a several other hammocks on the market, of which I did a review:

    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=49696

It looks like it's about the same width as the GT Double. The Kammok Roo has triple stitching, which was the nicest of the three in my review. It's not the same as the Roo, in that Kammok uses a diamond weave ripstop which is really nice/supple (far and away my favorite fabric of the three).

What I've found is that it's hard to go wrong with a hammock that's 11' long by 6' wide. You get the most comfortable lay in that size. If you cut corners and make the bag unattached and use S hooks, instead of carabiners, then the other manufacturers could save money too. I guess it's all dependent on how much work you want to put into your product. The Kammok has much nicer fabric, semi-waterproof bag and nice biners. If you're going to switch out most of this stuff with whoopies and a bishop bag, then it sounds like the Woot makes a great starting point. Better length than the ENO Double and it not so wide to put the seams in the wrong place (like the ENO Pro).

Triple stitched sounds great. As a starter hammock, it's not bad. If they put together some good color combos, I'd probably get my nod as far as a best buy. I guess I could order one up and add it to my review, if someone doesn't have a spare laying around...

Looks like the deal is gone. Question for someone that has one in hand: What's the length between the gathered ends, without the actual line that goes through the gathered ends?

Thanks for the reviews. I got a GT regular @ 8 months ago on sale for @ $15. I'm 5"11 and it's a killer on my knees and calf. I'll use this one for home in my room.

Seems like when I lay to go to sleep, it feels real nice. When I wake up, I have sagging butt syndrome. My ridge line is a lot more taunt and I am kinda folded. Do these things stretch as much as it seems, or is it just my butt playing tricks on me?
