Hennessy Customer Service shipped me a replacement undercover. It arrived before I even had a chance to decline. The replacement undercover is indeed sewn different on the foot end than the original. Both ends are open and are more tubular than the original undercover. So it appears the first UC was mildly defective.

HH customer service was very prompt. They quickly respond to e-mails and ship from a warehouse that's in the same town I work in. Surprisingly, the replacement UC did not ship from British Columbia, Canada.
