Genuine Draft and I sleep two in a hammock a few times a week. On the rare (like really rare) occasion that she joins me on the trail during the cold months, we always sleep double. Obviously, we are in the minority on double sleeping. Most don't care for it and there are times that it gets on my nerves too. But, as long as we aren't doing it nightly for weeks on end (three weeks is my record and I hope to never break it), it is a nice way to snuggle up with someone you like snuggling with.
    Trust nobody!

Key word, that: snuggle. Sleep, not so much.

I have done it and it can work although it isn't ideal.

I would say though that I'd rather sleep double with my wife in our ENO than to sleep in a tent.

Oh yeah- ive done this once and seen it done once- with a double nest both times...it didn't work either time lol. Both ppl end up sleeping straight between the trees (not Brazilian) and smashed together all night. Even if you go head to toe it is miserable

Get your wife her own hammock. You'll both be grateful for the comfort, not to mention thankful for the unbruised hips and shoulders. It's nice to snuggle a bit, but it's also super nice to have your own space to nest and sleep.

The GF and I sleep double when on the trail in my ENO DN. One person is on their back and one on their side, swapping every hour or two through the night as needed. After the first night we don't even wake up to switch any more than one would when rolling over in bed at home. Now, it helps that we're under 300 combined and agree that it's not for everyone, but it works well for us. The weight savings alone would make a gram counter weep.
