    Is 11ft hammock to long?

I'm only 5'6", not sure if that matters. wanting to get a BIAS WWM but an 11 foot hammock just sounds long. planning on getting a zpacks cuben tarp and I currently have a HG incubator. I'm just worried about the hammock being to low and getting the quilt wet because the sides of the tarp aren't very long. Is that unreasonable? should I even be worried about it even?

well, all I know is I really enjoy my WWM. Everything I have read or heard says it should be no issue with the incubator. Can not say for sure until mine arrives though I dont find any issue on mine with a jarbidge, although I do have a 56" wide model, so the sides are a little longer, but I wish I would have got te 52", I am a narrow guy myself and dont need all the extra fabric. The length is great, it lets me get a nice diagonal and sleep very comfy on my stand in the yard at home. Fabulous customer service at BIAS ( like all our vendors) and they make a fannnntastic product. In short, DONT WORRY and get the 11' but that's my 2 cents, and I really don't know much....

As long as you get the tarp coverage over the ends of your hammock you should be fine. I like at least 8" or more of tarp over the ends of my hammock. I'm short too and I love my 11' hammocks. Save weight with short quilts!

I run my 11' hammocks with a 108" ridgeline so a tarp with a ridge length of 130" or more should work well. The Zpacks tarp is 11" feet so keep your hammock ridgeline around 108" and you should have about a foot of coverage over the ends.

remember that's 11ft curved, not 11ft in a straight line.

    Should be groovy.

I'm 5'4" and I have a WL owl, which is 11 feet as well. I wouldn't say that it's too long. It is very comfy. The length makes it easier to set up: it's not that important that you get the angles perfect. It is feels great even with imperfect angles. Which is not the case with the shorter WB hammocks (although I still love my BB).

Thanks everyone! I'll go with the 11' what would you recommend on width? I like to sleep fairly flat. I'm used to the WBBB.

Check out member Orion X. He makes some comfy hammocks that are huge but light on weight.

Nvm. Just read you already had one in mind.

If you go with the 11' hammock I highly recommend a 12' ridgeline tarp if you hang in rainy weather. As for width I like 60"

+ a bunch on the 11 footer. I can hang my WWM without any ridge line. In fact, there was no ridge line with it when I got it and it was still great. Use an adjustable RL now for odd ball hang configurations.
