    howdy

A friend, Scott Dyreng (don't know his forum name) pointed me to the forum after lending me one of his hammocks for a night. I lived in Central America in the mid-90s and slept in a mayan hammock every night for nearly a year. I still have it, actually, and I sleep in it when I am a chaperoning at Boy Scout summer camp. I have plans to make a more durable, lighter weight camping hammock soon.

I wonder if there are any recreational tree climbers on the forum who climb tall trees using arborist techniques. That is one of my hobbies (see the links below) and I would love to sleep in a handmade hammock at the top of the trees.

    Welcome to the forum.

There is at least one arborist in this forum, I just cann't remember his screen name

Good advice indeed! Climbers who sleep in the trees always stay tied in to an overhead anchor point. Kinda like this:

Man, that looks interesting. Scary. Never would be my activity. BUT, for those who love it there is no substitute. Hang 'em high and enjoy! Welcome to the forums from north Ga.
