Alan Dixon's 3-Part Review of Hammock Camping (courtesy Andrew Skurka)

I had the opportunity to work with Andrew Skurka this past summer in sparking his interest in hammock camping. He had been looking into it while working on his book, so we arranged for him to get some "hang time" with some locals in Colorado. Skurka eventually picked up a Warbonnet hammock from Brandon.

Skurka shared his thoughts with Alan Dixon, a well-known backpacking evangelist from Backpacking Lite, who has seemingly embraced hammocks in his new review that Skurka recently posted:

This is Part I of a 3-part review.

I have been a member of BPL almost since they began and have always gotten something from Alan's articles. I left him a comment on that page.

yeah- yesterday on his Faceook page, Andrew asked for feedback from people who used hammocks for hiking. I think there were like 74 responses in the first 20 minutes.
I, of course, mentioned hammockforums.net. Someone else mentioned your book.
    Got alot of hits.

I had the opportunity to spend some time these past few weeks discussing hammocks with Alan. He is very knowledgeable and it was a great experience working with him.
This this a great resource for a new hanger and I'm really looking forward to Parts II & III.
