Here is an idea that I plan to try in the next day or so, but it might save me some time and agony if anyone has already tried this (and failed).
Being in South Florida, the need for as much bug protection as possible is paramount in some places. So I was thinking that I would like to have as much gear inside the safety of the bug net as possible.
My plan is to take an extra long piece of material and create an integrated gear loft as a "mini hammock" that is connected to the foot end of the main hammock.
Think of it this way. If you folded over a 4' section of material as if you were making a rediculously wide hem. Gather that seam as the common end of both the main and gear hammock. Gather the other two ends seperately. Then attach each independent end to seperate ridgelines.
Anyone try this already or see any issues with the plan?
