"peace out" to the boy model in the hammock
In some mysterious way woods have never
seemed to me to be static things.
In physical terms, I move through them;
yet in metaphysical ones,
they seem to move through me. -

Can't think of a better way to get your mind off the big "C" than screwing around with a hammock. And doing it with your son makes it even better. When I went through something similar my youngest was still in grade school. Now he is 24. I tried lots of things to get my mind from doing "what if's". Some worked better than others. Wish I had gotten bitten by the hammock bug back then since it is so focusing. Good luck and prayers.
