    Warbonnet web suspension

I used my WBBB for the first time this weekend. I decided to try the webbing suspension that came with it, then if I didn't like it, I had some ENO slap straps pro in reserve.

The ENOs are going back! The webbing that came with the BB is absolutely fine. I experienced little to no stretch. And the small 1100 lb.-rated carabiners they supply are absolutely fine, too. I had full confidence in the stability and holding power.

You can fine-tune your adjustments very easily with this suspension system. So anyone wondering about it--there you go!

I agree. Not sure why everyone switches to whoopie slings?? I hope I can make it to a "Hang" this winter so I can see a set-up with whoopies to see what all the hype is about.

I also agree. I love the WBBB strap setup. The only reason I switched to whoopies and straps is because I often hang in trees that have sap on them, and I like to have a suspension that detaches and can be stored separately. Can't handle sap on the hammock.

Slap straps are nylon and they stretch a fair bit. Even if the WB suspension didn't work out, you are better off returning them regardless.

I hiked with a girl this summer who had this system.
It took her less than me to set up my Hennesey with whoopies.

So much so, I thought I would trade for a WBB.
But I am going to go with the Darien UL by Papa Smurf.

There are many ways to skin the hammock cat.
    Much of it is preference.

I just got my BB this past week, and MAN, the suspension seems 1000 times better than the stock Hennessy system. My son has a HH Cub that I'm going to upgrade the suspension on. I was just about to make a similar post about why people go for whoopie slings over the webbing system.

I've tried whoopies and also the Single Ring Suspension with Amsteel. I went back to the web and buckles I bought from Warbonnet. So much easier and the web and buckle setup is only 1 measly ounce heavier than whoopies with tree straps. I bundle up my hammock and then put the webbing into a separate pocket that I attached to the outside of my hammock bag.

The trees we used were loaded with sap, but amazingly I didn't get any on my straps. I brought ziplock bags to shove them into afterwards in case I did though.

Can't you just remove the entire straps from the buckles and store separately to prevent sap from getting on the hammock?

I too am back to webbing and descender rings - after going to whoopies, then back to webbing and rings, then back to whoopies, now back to webbing and rings

I unthread my straps from the buckles every time. I don't see why some folks make a deal about it. It takes a millisecond to rethread them.
