After becoming quite frustrated while trying to make a couple of continous loops, I decided to find a better set of tools for the job. After reviewing a bunch of videos that seemed to make it look quite easy, I went looking for readily available supplies.
The knitting needle was easy and cheap ($1.50 at Walmart). Next up, something to pull the line through. That was the real puzzle. But in a flash of inspiration, I wondered to the fishing section. And there it was. Saltwater leaderlines! They are strong, small, "pushable", and already have a loop on both ends. This became critical when pulling the wire.
These were also cheap. ($1.50 for pack of 3).
I picked up the highest poundage leader that I could find. Went home and knocked out a continous loop and a dogbone in the time it used to take me to barely get the first bury started.
Hope this helps somebody. I know it would have saved me a couple of hours of frustration in making my suspension.
I'll pull a few pics up in a followup.
