I had a brief test last night before abandoning the hammock due to overheating. It was snowing out and it kept it all out. I didn't have the sides pulled out as far as I should have and the one side was rubbing against the hammock. I fixed that this morning. So far I like it. I'm pretty sure my wife will as well. Test two will be tonight with some rejigged layers to keep me cooler.

Nice to hear! Does it feel "claustrophobic" as some other folks have reported?

Not at all. It doesn't really feel any more enclosed that the regular asym tarp. You just can't see out under it. I missed my test last night as I wasn't feeling too well, so I'll be out tonight.

Looks good, although I'd like to see some daytime pictures if possible. Your thread mentions you were using a Monsoon rather than a Typhoon with your Explorer, did you have any issues using the shorter tarp with the longer hammock?

It's down at the moment. I'll get another pic once it's back up.
I just checked my order on the fly, I have a Typhoon. Got it on the Odds and Ends sale in Oct for $49. Couldn't pass that up!

Righto, no worries. I actually got a Typhoon from that same sale, I just haven't set it up yet. It's snowing.
