You should sign into Va. hangs on Facebook! It's a bunch of Va HF members . We just post hangs in or close to Va. On that note we are heading to Roan in two weeks if you would like to go ? We have section 33 of the AT as a backup plan and that is in Pearisburg Va.
Let me know I'm heading that hang up?

Middle Prong Wilderness is usually pretty empty. I'll second the Black Mountain recommendation as well. Snowbird would be another area to check out and if you up for an adventure Bonas Defeat Gorge next to Panthertown.
