SOLD: Big Red Down Parka - Expedition warmth

I bought Big Red decades ago. There is no label inside but given how it fits my 5' 6" frame, I'd say it is a large, large or an extra large with a Tall length.

I have seldom been in an environment that was cold enough for Big Red. One day, when it was about -40 in Stanley ID - number 7 in the ten coldest places on earth - I put on Big Red, down pants, a neoprene Masque and goggles. Then I went outside and laughed, Ha ha ha, at the wind and cold.

It is like wearing a Top Quilt.

There is one slight "ouch" shown it the photo. It is an easily patched hole - I'd patch it but my tape won't match the color - about as big as a pencil eraser.

Because Big Red has no pedigree, no label or designated size. I have to offer it at a very low price.

Think of it as the warmest, lest expensive 3/4 length top quilt you can find that has arms.

Distance from inside to top shoulder seam to cuff is about 31 inches.
Distance from approximate neck line to bottom hem is about 34 inches
Weight is about 2.5 lbs.

Has two outside pockets with sliding in opening from the side (insulated) and velcro flap opening (uninsulated) from the top (double pocket).

Hood is sewn on, not snap off.

I'm puzzled by the sleeve length because I recall buying shirts with a 30 inch sleeve and these jacket sleeves are a lot longer than any shirt - so maybe the shirt dimensions start/end at a different point.

If you normally wear a large, this mays seem a tad big - but that's a feature, not a bug. My idea for its use is, if you are outside in cold weather - like 20 degrees or lower - and you want to be warm; this will get you there.

I'm guessing it would fit an XL size, but at my small stature, I've never ventured into those realms. I'd need a GPS to find my way out of those garments.

For $50 you will probably have the warmest - but not the prettiest or most fashionable (no "label") jacket in your cold weather arsenal.
