OK...so for Xmas I got a pair of Leki hiking poles with the Aergon Grips.

    http://www.leki.com/843-thermolite-xl-1.html

Leki also sells camera mount adaptors which fit all poles that have the Aergon grip.

    http://www.leki.com/908-aergon-photoadapter.html

Both items can be found at Sunny Sports at greatly reduced prices. I haven't had the opportunity to try them out yet but probably within the next few days. I may also buy the adaptor that Brandon sells as this one is set up more for camera with the little wheel for screwing into the camera. His looks more bomber.

I think the entire settup was around $140.

The Leki photo adapters are not strong enough..... I tried and the pieces went flying...luckily no damage to my Lekis.
The two holes that the pin goes thru broke.

YMMV of course....let us know if it works out.
Would have been a perfect if it worked out.

    I'm about 155# btw.

I installed hanger bolts in the handles of my old McKinnleys, and bought the adapters from Brandon and they worked well.

    Cheers

Neat to hear from someone who's done it. Do you have any pictures of it?
