The SW is an odd duck. I found that it hangs better at an angle much less than 30* .

If you want to talk more on the Switchback, you might have to start a new thread on the TTTG page:

    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/f...splay.php?f=96

You could also become a "donating member" and get access to the other threads, including the Kayaking one. Post some questions there to experienced users.

My experience here, born out by stats, is that you should look and post in the general hammock forum. Even though I have too many Clarks for just two (or 3 or 4) to go camping, I'm not big enough to fill your shoes, and more important to you is to know that this forum gets smaller visits.

Your size and much larger are not at all uncommon among guys on HF.

Comfort is individual as bodies are, and too much is made of just size. As you have learned yourself, the TtT Switchback has a reputation for comfort, but many who would be surprised to learn that it earns it while being under 50" wide, about a foot too narrow by some expectations. I'm sure that as is true for Clarks, the tailor's selection of fabric characteristics has much to do with that. My Clarks all feel much firmer than a 1.7 Warbonnet, for example, and while knocking the Warbonnet, my body has come to expect the firmness of the Clark, which comes, I think, from a heavier weight nylon bed.
