First solo, good stuff! Super nice place, that late is as pretty as a picture! I like getting to camp just on dark. Looked like a VERY successful first solo to me, well done! Well done on the video editing too, that was really good!

Fun video. I like the cuts between the photos and the video. The Foothills is a great trail. I'll be thru hiking it solo this weekend. I'll be looking forward to your thru hike.

In the video on the first day that you come to a campsite and ask where you might get your water: coming from Pinnacle Mtn, just before you get to that site, there is a small spring that crosses the trail. If you go another 1/4 mile down the trail (I'm sure you saw it), there is a creek flowing over the rocks and off the cliff just past the rock outcrop.

Looks like a pretty darn nice trip. Congrats on your solo! Love a little solo hiking myself.

Would love to be out there in the mountains.
Life looks better from a BIAS hammock.

That is actually where I got my water. There is also a small camp site by that creek. I got a video of it flowing over the rocks but it didn't do it justice. Plus you have to leave some surprises. It looked like there were 3 other small creeks that would run when we are getting rain, but they were dry this time.

Good luck with your thru hike.

Thank you for all the comments. I am using my hiking videos to dabble in Adobe premier. I need some knowledge for work and figured it would be easier to learn by working on something I enjoy.

Next is After Effects Lynda.com here I come.

Fascinating! I'll definitely be paying more attention and looking for all these features. Always neat to learn about this stuff.

Another note. If it looks like leaves were kicked onto the scrape, it was a rival buck usually messing with the man mojo

That was a great video. Looked like an excellent solo hike.
I just hiked up to the overlook on Pinnacle Mountain yesterday.
I've attached a picture of the view you couldn't see from "the big rock".
It's worth a trip back there IMO.

    Thanks for sharing.

Were you wearing something orange? I was on Horse Mtn looking for the petroglyphs and saw someone standing out on that lookout.

That could have been me. The wind was a little biting up there and I put on an orange puff jacket while I rehydrated a bowl of chili and made coffee. Life was good.
