Indian Grave Ridge - George Washington National Forest

Here's a link to a 9 mile hike I took yesterday in the George Washington National Forest, near Luray, Virginia. I parked along the banks of the Shenandoah River, then hiked up the east side of the Massanutten Mountains, along the ridgeline a ways, then down a trail along Indian Grave Ridge, then back to the river. All in all a very nice hike. I usually throw up an ENO Doublenest hammock on my day hikes, but I was running short of daylight, so I skipped it on this hike. Despite no hammock you might enjoy the pics and video clips, especially if you don't know what this part of Virginia looks like.

Thanks for the video. My brother lives in that area and I love it. I'm going to suggest this hike to him. How long did it take?

I would plan on 5-6 hours hiking, including about 30 min stop for lunch.

If you are considering hikes in that area, you might also want to take a look at the other videos I posted all close by to this hike:

    Veach Gap
    Shawl Gap
    Buzzard Rock Overlook
    Signal Knob / Strasburg Reservoir
    Meneka Peak

These are all located in the George Washington National Forest between Front Royal and Luray.

They say Strasburg Reservoir is stocked with fingerling brook trout, but I have never fished it.

If you have any problems finding those other YT vids let me know.

There also TONS of hikes within 20 miles of these, all in Shenandoah National Park.
