    Double layer hammock "Pattern"

I'm about to make a double layer hammock but I need to determine where to sew the 2 layers together for the pocket(s).

    Appreciate some help with that!

    Possible help...

I made one like that. However, I think more of the sides sewn together works better. Personally if I do another it will be just one opening wide enough to reach in and position the pad.
Gentle raindrops and mighty oceans...neither can exist without the other.

    I've used Scott's site for a pattern.

I used the instructions from DIY Gear Supply to make my double layer. But I only put one opening on one side. http://www.backwoodsdaydreamer.com/diy-guides/hammock/

My advise is to stitch up less of the sides than you think is needed. Use the hammock for a while to see what you really like. Adding stitching later is easy. Ripping out stitching is a pain.

I seem to like more openings than most people and only make 2-3 ~3" stitches per side. It's nice to be able to reach in anywhere to make pad adjustments.

I stitch both sides the same. 6" at each end and 5' in the middle. This leaves 30" openings near each end in my 11' hammocks.

I have hammocks that don't stitch up both sides near the middle of the hammock and they are a pain to get into because you have to hold both layers which are flopping around independently.
