It has never been burned. We just opened it and checked it out. This was a spare that I bought for a backpacking demonstration. It is a 2012 model purchased Academy Sports this June.

With or without the MSR fuel bottle?
Sorry for the delay..I have used heet, denatured alcohol, diesel, kerosene, white gas, unleaded gas, fuel oil, and aviation fuel in mine but the company says this is just a "tri-fuel" stove. Something about alcohol damages the bottles, I think... I have never had any problems, though. In an emergency, this will burn just about anything. That was the deciding factor when I bought my first whisperlite.
It does not come with a fuel bottle, but I could dig one up for a little extra if you need one.
I want to re-iterate that this a new in the box stove and has never been used or burned.
