    I'm unsure of the the advantages and disadvantages over the standard flat felled seam. Although I believe, and could be completely wrong, that warbonnet tarps are done with the French seam with bias tape over the seam itself.

    I like DIY gear supplies "hybrid" seam--------I think I'll give that a try---thanks guys!
    FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
    run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
    bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )
