Cold and snowy would be just fine by me. If it get too windy I may want to venture off into the trees for some protection. Windy in Kansas....no never Dorothy.

But this is Kansas. The record high/lows for the 1st of Feb. are 72F/-17F. Pack your flip-flops and mukluks to be safe.

OK...updated attendee list as it stands now:

    Owl
    Weasel
    Ramenshamen
    Fuhgawee
    Hoot
    Dudorino
    Radiohead

    Possible:
    Kerflop
    Chewy

Should be fun! And I agree with Ramen...weather gets windy, we can move back into the trees. In fact, there are several spots not far from the trailhead that we can relocate to that are much more sheltered, depending on the wind direction.

I will hopefully capture a video "hang report" this time, as the wife got me a nice little digital video camera and tripod I'm bringing out this time. Not to mention the need for a video redemption of muffin baking in the woods...LOL!

There's nothing "not allowed" that's not covered in the park rules. Those rules are pretty simple. Fires in fire rings, no alcohol, no bikes or vehicles on the trails.

We're a pretty friendly group. We'll have to make sure the language doesn't get rough since it's usually mostly men out there, but there's no reason at all we can't deal with that.

My only concern would be to make sure you've got sufficient cold weather gear and clothing for her. Women/kids typically don't hold body heat as well as men/adults, and at this point there's no knowing what the weather will be like out there.

We'll have a fire every night, and often through the day as well if it's chilly, so that can help a good bit.

Just be warned...Dudorino and I have a habit of doing "stupid camping tricks" that are clearly things that she should NOT try at home! LOL!!!

Do you need any extra firewood? I have a couple cords not doing anything on my back porch.

I'm a noob here too. I haven't got my hammock started yet or have I even bought anything yet. But I'm still waiting.

I have to work that Sunday night but I have that Friday and Saturday off. So I might be able to join you guys. I'll just have to sleep the archaic way......on the ground... in my tent.
