You wanted to see it; no tie out lines on tarp

I posted on another thread that I had figured out how to tie out using only 4 stakes on the superfly and with those four stakes I could tie my doors shut, tie out my hammock and shelf AND put out my pull outs on the tarp.

Here are the pictures. As you can see, I have no tie out lines on the two sides of the tarp but I have my inside pulled out. We had gust of 33 mph over night with 18 sustained and my "system" held up fine.

Post any questions you can't figure out by the pictures, or any ideas to stream line this tie out. And yes, the Eno is the dog's hammack.

Hm... so you used two sticks as spreader bars for the side tie-outs. Are the sticks also tied to the center tarp line or are they just laying on top of the tarp line? One side appears to be tied and I can't see the other side well enough.

This is a great post. I have a Mamajamba with diy doors and I carry 12 stakes to tie down everything. Now I can cut that in half easily.

Yes, two sticks as spreader bars for the side tie-outs and they are tied in the center also. It does not take very much for the tarp spreaders either but the longer they are of course the more it will pull out the tarp's side tie outs. 3' seems to work just about right for me.

Yep...I'm going to need to see a Dejoha illustration with some colored lines. I've got the general idea but maybe an illustration would make it clearer. I recently picked up an OES 4-season with just one pullout per side. I think this setup would save me a lot of stakes and heartache.

I just ordered a superfly a day or two ago, and was planning how to set it up and now you come along and mess with things. This will cheat me out of carrying several stakes, I don't know how I can ever get over the trauma. Oh well, I guess I will just have to make the best of it. Jokes aside, this looks real interesting, thanks.
