Bumping this, although its not like its going to get buried too far.
Any other takers out there?

I have hiked this a couple of times coming in on the Tuscarora Trail from the VA side. Take a good trail map with you as there are a lot of intersecting trails. The Old Mail Trail is an interesting walk and at one time was the "road" for postal delivery. There are some really nice camp/hang sites on the way to the overlook. Enjoy!
Got it on the calendar. I'm one of the ones Bear Chaser had in mind.
BFGMofo, hope you can make it. Hickery, you too.
I might be able to make it, I'll have to check on work schedule.
Anyone interested in carpooling? I live in Towson... North Baltimore area.

I'm off as of right now. Always good to get back to the olde home state.

Would love to hang on this trip. Thanks!
Hey guys-
I'm pretty new around here and don't actually own any hanging gear yet but hopefully that is remedied by this hang. This is about 20 minutes from my house.
Any of you guys in the area want to get together sometime and talk about gear/I'd love to check some out.
Anyway. I'm a definite maybe and hopefully I can meet some of you before this.
JCook,
Check your info. Either your home isn't in Blacksburg or you're mistaken about the location of this hike. It's more like 3 hours from Blacksburg.
That said, you'd get a chance to see a number of different set-ups at the hang, but it would be good to try out a hammock at home first before hiking with it. Also, we don't discriminate against tents, so you could use what you're familiar with, if you wish.
Correct this is about 3 hours for me. There is a hiking area 20 minutes from me on the border of WV and VA called White Rocks though so hence the confusion.
Dang. I would love to do this one, but my friend Fred and I have already laid plans for this weekend. It is our fourth annual, Spring Overnighter's Annual Kickoff hike (SOAK for short).
I am looking forward to lots of pics and some video when you get back.
