I'll keep my eye on this hike/hang. Sounds like it would be a good one to break in a new hanger such as myself. I'll have to make sure I do it with my existing cold weather gear. I don't have a top/bottom quilt yet, I'll have to make do with my old stuff.
Xtrekker,
I used to canoe camp on the Cacapoon river years ago. Which is pretty close to the white rock hike location. I would love to do it again except with a hammock. Let me know if you want to try and set something up. I still have my canoe.
This might work for the next trip. http://www.paddling.net/places/showReport.html?2916 BTW I got permission for the White rocks H&H from the wife, I may be a +1
Oh yeah. I plan to do couple of hikes this spring. Few more in the fall as well. And if I get my winter setup dialed in correctly, I will do some winter hikes also.
Also, ill be bringing some hand crafted Bamboo trekking poles to this hike-n-hang in case anybody is interested in some of them. Been making em for few years now. Ill post some pics soon on the ones I plan to bring. Gonna make 2 sets of Ultra-light ones. Should weigh around 4-6oz a piece. Some of the larger staffs will weigh in the 9-12oz a piece.
I'm going to try and make this.
It's about a 4 hr. trip for me.
I'm also interested in krshome's planned float trip.
Never done a group thing before, can you have too many people? What time would you be starting your hike on Friday? I'm about 4 hours away! I still need to get some gear to complete my set-up but my B-day is in March and I have my fingers crossed! Sounds like fun.
If invites are still open I'm in. I just have to put in for vacation. A quick question anyone going to have an issue if I bring my two very friendly dogs along?
maybe...getting close to paddling season. Plus, I work Sundays. Can I get to my car late Saturday/early Sunday?
