Any solutions for hammock hat head?

I have a problem. When I'm sleeping in the hammock it's usually chilly enough at night to need to wear a winter hat. It seems that no matter the hat I wear, it keep sliding over my forehead and into my eyes. While for you guys with short hair this isn't a problem, my long hair seem to think it needs to follow the way of the hat and the more I need to adjust my hat, the farther forward my hair goes. Does anyone out there in hammock land have a solution for this? My hair in the morning looks like cousin it!

Maybe a Buff would do the trick. I wear one sometimes under a heavier hat.

the buff works for me. keeps the hair back out of the face and still keeps the back of the neck warm.

Maybe try using a hair net that is designed to be worn under a wig? My daughter works in costume so she wears wigs all the time and she has very long hair that must remain unseen.

She usually just sort of rolls it up in a bunch on the top of her head and pulls the hair sock over the top. When she takes it out it doesn't look as bad as hat hair.

Cut your hair short to solve the problem?

Seriously though, depending on how long of hair we are talking, maybe cut a hole in the back and pull a ponytail of hair through it like some do with a baseball cap?

Hmm....try a freestanding fleece hood, maybe? (I have one - it's great. I wear it under some hats and over others.

I also have a "Radar Hat" (Like Radar used to wear in MASH when it was cold), which is a partial face-mask hat sort of thing. That seems to stay glued to my head - doesn't move at all.

Buff. It keeps my hair out of my face and keeps me nice and warm. Dave's suggestion of a balaclava is a great one as well, but a buff can be used pretty much like a balaclava, or dew rag, or dust mask, or....so on and so on. They really are great.
