    Repositionable tarp suspension

I finally have all the pieces I want for my tarp suspension. I briefly looked around this forum to see if anyone else has already posted the same setup, so I apologize if someone has done so. This setup relies on the mini line-loks (aka clamcleats). They add the capability of very easily repositioning the tarp over your hammock, or just sliding the tarp off to one side without having to untie the suspension. I forgot to include a picture of the figure-9, it's in lieu of a knot on the other tree. These are the components.

small biner (optional; avoids having to tie a knot)
small figure 9 (also optional, for the same reason)
    3mm mason's line
a rubber band (helps maintain tension)
    2 mini line-loks (http://www.cleats.co.uk/home/details.asp?id=7k)

Not bad at all. You'll want to swap out the rubber band for some decent shock cord eventually, rubber bands do not hold up very long at all, and sun damages them very severely and quickly. Looks like a quick setup, well done.

I like that too. Will have to give it a try.

    Thanks!

I definitely agree about the rubber band needing to be replaced. But, it will, for now.

Have been using the mini line-loks to suspend the tarp in place of tying off the tarp ridgeline. Just couple wraps around the tree and back to the mini-locks which are attached close to the tarp. Repositioning does require uncleating and loosening of the line. Not as simple to reposition as your system, but beats having to untie a knot. One AM freezing rain/sleet, the take down of the tarp was effortless. The wrong knot frozen would have been a pain. So far, no failures in a variety of adverse conditions (heavy rain, winds in excess of 30 knots, sleet). Worse case if the locks fail is back to a knot.
