Ftroop---is the pavilion reservable?

I was incorrect. There isn't a pavilion at this trailhead, but there are picnic tables and charcoal grills. I will bring a propane grill as well.

I just spoke with the station and I plan on chatting with the ranger again in advance!

Something else to think about....is someone bringing a saw (a Sven maybe)....I know the antelopes will be at Hobbs early...was thinking fire and marshmallows for the kids in us....

I'm bringing my 21" Sven saw. I would bring my Gerber camp axe as well, but axes and hatchets are prohibited in the natural area.

I always take a hatchet, it is just too hard to enjoy a campfire without a proper hatchet.

I am good with helping on the cooking, but I have no gas stoves, I always cook over fire sooooo...

I spoke with the Ranger again this afternoon. I will print up a bunch of flyers that identify us as a group and we will all park together in a cluster placing the flyers in our automobile dashboards. We will then only need to fill out one permit for the group. I'll handle that!

Local weather men on our local channels up here are now calling for this Low Pressure system coming thru Mon-Tues-Wed,,to be like the last one with snow but no accumlation of less than a inch as its not going to contain alot of moisture and their comment was it wasn't going to become a full blown storm of sorts..so you guys down south should be good to go for a great weekend of hiking and hanging..I sure think your going to have springish decient weather and just want to keep you abreast of the weather. Enjoy the weekend as I know you will.

Sounds like a big breakfast kick-off party for this loop hike. Gotta love the HF family.
