Wow I need to get out more!

I was only out about 7 or 8 nights in 2012...I plan on much more in 2013 and I shouldn't complain, I was still working on school in 2012 but that's done!

Hmmmm. Hard to say as I hang and sleep in my backyard a LOT. Probably around 50-60 nights out there. And 38 nights camping and hiking in the woods that I can recall. Hope to do more of both this year.
Leave me alone, I'm only talking to my dog today.

I may be outnumbered, but never outmanned.

First hang was in September. 4 hangs/9 nights + 2 nights in backyard = 11 nights. Next year, I'd love to hit 25-30 nights in the woods. :-)

I live 5 miles from a state park on Lake Erie, so I hiked to the campground about 5 times for an overnight in June, with my WBBB 1.1 DL. Each night was a kinda shakedown. Then I went for 14 days on the Long Trail in Vermont. Meant to take 30 days that trip but had to bail out.

I wanted to lighten up more so I bought a ZPacks Solo Twin and an Exped mat, slept in it one night, that is, tried to sleep one night. Never again. I learned my lesson. I'll hang from now on. I sent the tent and mat back, and now I've ordered a Darien UL.
Looking forward to a month back on the Long Trail this July.

I'd love to be able to get out once a month, as it stands I only managed about a dozen nights total this past year, at least more than half of which were in my backyard. Unfortunately street lights and traffic don't make my yard very conducive to a good night's rest.

But I did get 3 good nights in the beautiful Linville Gorge, gonna have to try for a longer trip there this year, if I can get the kitchen pass.

My daughter has a class camping trip scheduled in May that I'm planning to go along on and that will give me 3 nights atleast, plus the hang I'm coordinating gives me 2. So I've got at least 5 nigths planned before summer fully hits. Not a bad start.

Since I started in April... I have hung at least one night a month out in the woods... Sometimes as many as three nights out in the woods... Now that I have a stand it will be easier to hang... But after January, I will take two months off to train for a marathon... And then come April I figure I can start my once a month thing again...

I slept out around 18 nights this year. They were all out in the woods too. I'd gotten my gear dialed in the year before so, I did no over night testing at all in my yard last year. I went to the BWCA twice and did some car camping near there with my wife and kids who are 7, 5 and 2 years old. I had a blast, even though I hardly caught a fish all summer.
