    yeti issue

I'm just back from an overnighter (no, not the Himalayas - not that kind of yeti), and noticed somthing I did on the last trip as well: the shock cord that supsends my yeti is really annoyingly pushing itself and the hammock +bugnet (the XLC) against the side of my forehead when I'm snugly lying on the diagonal. And I mean strongly too. Just where I have my head when lying in a sweeeeet spot.. am I missing something, or is there an alternative way of suspending it that would sort this out? Or am I just a freak of nature and will need to blame my genes for making me to tall?

I have had similar issues with mine. I usually use some sort of pillow and push the bungee under it which helps. I did put longer shock cord on mine to allow it to fit a bit looser as I use it on another hammock that is a bit longer. Problem seems to be on both of my hammocks. I too would welcome some ideas on this. Yeti is very comfortable otherwise.

Did you add the extra 6 inch piece to the suspension? My yeti came with an additional 6 inch piece for adding to the suspension for XLC users. I had the same sensation when trying it without the addition. Added the piece per the instructions and all was well.

hmm.. don't remember any extra piece. It would make sense though, as the suspension probably was made for the original bb. It's a while ago I got mine (although I only started noticing it the last two trips), shortly after he started with the xlc, so possibly that's a later addition. I always did think the cord is a bit too taught.

Anyway, the suggestion is longer suspension. I can sort that out (I think).

Because i have a BB and a lite Owl i added a loop on each end of the suspension for when i use the Lite Owl, and don't use the extra loop when on the BB.

Well its honestly just a 6 inch loop that you hitch onto the original suspension..its not even shock chord....easiest DIY possible I think. I can take some pics for you if it would help.

KOm4 are you using S biners or just looping the shockcord over the gatherend?
A s-biner will really help the shockcord equalize pressure as you get diagonal.
The shoulder and outside footends cords get really tight if the cord can't slide.

    NOTE Blue s biner

Sounds easy enough. I think I've got a couple of dogbones lying around - that might do the trick.

Yeah, easy enough. I've got a few spools of all kinds of cord lying around, so.. :-)

I think it came with s-biners.. I usually just stuff it all in a waterproof compression sack - I never even disconnect the underquilt, so last time I checked was when I hung it up the first time, so I honestly don't remember :-)

Thanks everyone, I'll give it a try with the longer suspension.. if that doesn't do it, I might make som triangle thingies.

If it has s biners one thing to check is that the shockcord knot has not worked its way up to the biner.
The knot will prevent the cord from sliding.
Best of luck getting it sorted out.

extra loop was not enough for my xlc or my bias hammock. i measured cord on my hg incubator and duplicated it. the stock cord was very short on my xlc. best solution so far has been tucking bungee under my pillow.
