Last night, I was playing with my insulation in the back yard. I have a Leighlo 3 season UQ and a recently acquired EMS down sleeping bag soon to be turned into top quilt. (remove the zipper, cut off the hood, add tabs for lashing up the footbox with shock cord). While I haven't done any of that yet, I stayed nice and warm in the upper 30's. There was a small cold spot at my calves.
Secret Santa was great and sent me a Thermoflect blanket. Is there a secure way to use part of that blanket to help insulate the footbox of my would-be TQ? (and do i put blue side out or gray side out) I'd like it to be something that looks finished and not held together with binder clips.
My only thought so far is to cut a section to fit inside or outside of the footbox, a foot cylinder of sorts. I don't sew, but have the best intentions of learning how.
Little help?
Thanks!
