    Re: Cohutta Wilderness

So who else is planning to be at Panther Creek Falls on Friday night? If no one besides me, I might be in the area but not yet at the falls.

    Cohutta Wilderness

Unfortunately, I'm out of this one. My son is in a baseball tournament that weekend. Hope everyone has a great time and that I can join another hang really soon.

As of now I am planning on heading in on Friday, provided no other work issues pop up. Anyone checked with the ranger station to make sure the road to Three Forks is open? Last time I went up in mid March, the gate to the road from Potato Patch to Three Forks was closed because of bad road conditions.

The hike from Three Forks to the camp site has no water crossings other than small trickles across the trail. It's just a ball buster going out!
The hike across from the west side has several crossings. The major one being the Conasauga River at Panther Creek. Usually about calf to knee high in spots.

Also, is the plan just to camp at the site at the top of the falls or camp and do hikes from there? I'm all for just hanging there but if the group gets a wild hair to do some exploring, I'll pack lite...er.

For those going in on Friday, what time at the trail head?

I went up last weekend and the road was open to 3 forks.
