Too old to be this new...

Hey, I have been lurking a while and wanting to get into these Hammocks. I actually have 2 but they don't even rate a mention.
I am thinking of getting my 1st 'real' one and I am leaning toward the ENO Doublenest. That seems to get good reviews and it is cheap enough that if my old self can't hack it I can pass it down without breaking the bank.
I already have a lot of camping gear as I have camped all my life and just recently became the proud owner of a Kelty Tarp (16).
Also a thought hit me in the middle of the night...in a tent I sleep comfortable in boxer shorts.....I know it is up to me but what is the preferred sleep wear in a hammock, I'm talking state parks, campgrounds and just plain wild woods...I know that may seem like a strange question but .....
I am from the Deep South by the way....Georgia and will be using the hammock in North Georgia and The adjoining states.

Welcome aboard! My clothing choices for hanging are similar to when I used to tent.

Welcome from VA. The Eno DN is one of the hammocks I own. Great hammock, but find myself using the DIY more. The Kelty 16 is a LARGE tarp. I have the 9. You will have plenty of coverage, maybe too much. You may find that you have problems trying to hang it. Your going to need a lot of room between the trees. Not saying that it can't be done. As for what to sleep in? What ever you want. There are several tricks to "Not being seen" when in the state parks/campgrounds. You can get dressed, or at least pants/shorts on when still in the hammock, either laying down, or sitting. With that tarp, you can close the ends, and make doors, so your completely closed off. In the summer, you will find that you don't want it closed up. I am the same as you, prefer the boxers. I have never had a problem, and am a Scout Master. I have been hanging for 2 1/2 years, and never had a single issue. Winter keep the doors closed, summer put on the shorts while still in the hammock........RR

    Welcome from Denver!

If you're looking for an inexpensive entry point, I'd also recommend the BIAS Weight Weenie. A little longer than the Eno, so it's more comfy for me. Plus, you'd be supporting one of our cottage vendors (small businesses on the site).

Welcome to the forums from Utah. Lived in Georgia for four years and loved it. Great hanging opportunities out on Cumberland Island!
