Never use ear plugs unless i'm at the range, I typically fall right to sleep as soon as i'm done wiggling and snuggled in, that is until that pesky S-Biner prematurely releases my uq and I get a sudden blast of coldness on my backside.

Been working shift work for 18 years. Earplugs for the last 15. I don't go out without them. Unless I'm sleeping near a babbling brook, or when I'm monitoring my kids, I sleep with the spongy orange goodness.

I always bring earplugs but rarely use them. Not often, but sometimes one little thing will irritate me enough that I have a hard time falling asleep....Mosquitos buzzing outside my net, dog barking way off in the distance, bear tearing into my food bag....and I'll throw them in.
O if I'm really having a hard time falling asleep and I have cell reception I'll give my wife a call. Her (ahem) "soothing voice" always puts me to sleep!

In the Navy I learned to turn off the volume and go to sleep. As a Ranger I learned to wake if when the phone rang. It's something we can control, but it takes time. I can sleep almost anywhere anytime, but only if I'm tired.
Earplugs, I can't where them, they irritate me too much, also afraid I might not hear something I need too.

The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves.”

Yup and they are a dual use item for those of us who ride motorcycles and hammock camp. I go to a local audiologist and have him make the custom ones so they fit well under the helmet and allow more comfortable wear...much better than the DIY or moto show ones. They also work great for those times when night shift work or a snoring wife (mine says she doesn't snore, she purrs ) makes for baggy eyes.
Yup, always have two sets just incase I loose a pair. I can't sleep in the woods without them because every little twig snap I hear is actually a mountain lion trying to eat me.
I use earplugs when testing in the yard, lots of noises. I have a pair in the van, on the headboard, and in each hammock. I snore. My wife snores. PPl can't do anything about their snoring but earplugs are cheap. I usualy don't use them in the woods.
I'm not snoring...I serenading the other campers
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
