Last night was my first try with spindrift. I set up my tarp in my backyard about 5 pm.
I came out a couple of hours later to set up hammock and found ice crystals
on the under side my tarp. I setup my hammock and spindrift and went to sleep, some hours later I wake to find ice crystals on the spindrift.

I can't attribute all the ice to my heat or breathing because there was ice underneath
the tarp before I was there, so there is some other factor involved.

Anyway, you have a great hammock combo. The winter Lynx just can't be beat for
ease of use and warmth. I am going to keep trying the spindrift under different
conditions. It may be best with wind and rain than with cold temps.
The initial condensation most likely occurred as your gear cooled rapidly. It's pretty common when backyard camping. You bring no e warm gear from inside your house and set it up. Things cool quickly and moisture condenses and freezes.

In my testing I found that if there was no wind with the spindrift completely unzipped still had considerable condensation, But the colder it was the better because at 14 degrees instead my top quilt and spindrift being wet everything was frozen which made it a lot easier to shake the ice off the top quilt and spindrift, But when its only low 30s everything is wet .....
After following several folks' reports, I'm of the opinion that the main purpose of a sock is a wind-breaker, at least above frigid temperatures. If there is no wind, then the appropriateness of the sock is questionable. As posted, it's advantages are out-weighed by the disadvantages. So, maybe it's a matter of us learning when and when not to use a sock. An extra couple of ounces of down may serve us better, then deploy the sock if it's windy.

For frigid conditions, maybe the same applies or more testing is in order.

My $0.02 (and that's about what it's worth)

In my testing I had the hammock and all sleeping gear setup mid morning. My clothing that i was wearing had been inside right before i went that night however.

Wise words to sock by, thanks MAD 'maybe it's a matter of us learning when and when not to use a sock'.
And I would add, how to use a sock.
